geeeeez... i thought the dark-skinned, blonde, white eyes thing died a few years ago. at least, it was rare in tokyo... maybe it's taking time to die down elsewhere? :)

seen any giant socks ;)

I think it's either making a comeback or the trends are different in Osaka. I'm heading to Tokyo on Monday so I'll let you know if they're sporting a different style over there. Actually, I was in a convenience store today looking over a magazine dedicated entirely to that style!

And speaking of loose socks and school girl outfits, I don't notice the loose socks here as much as I did in Matsumoto or Tokyo (especially Shibuya) when I was in Japan last time.

I did, however, see an interesting program comparing skirt length in Osaka and Tokyo. It seems long is popular in Osaka whereas short is the norm in Tokyo. I don't think any girl wears it regulation length.

The "gyaru" look is still alive in Tokyo! I think it's concentrated in Shibuya. Though I think it's bigger in Osaka.

And the school girls in Tokyo do wear their skirts short and socks loose.
